I did my lollipop breast reduction & lift on 8th June, 2016. I'm 1 month post op & scars look black. Is this normal? (Photo)

Hello and thank you for your question. I recommend all my patients to start using scar gel and silicone sheeting after surgery, this will help improve the scars to fade with time. Scars can sometimes take a full year to mature. Make sure you are keeping them away from the sun and applying sunscreen when in a bathing suit in the summer. You can certainly use your own body lotion to the skin as well but for the scars I recommend a scar gel like scar fade and again the silicone sheets. Good luck with your journey.

I think what you are seeing is some of the glue your surgeon used on top of the incisions that collects dead skin and dirt. It can be gently removed with soap and water and a wash cloth with gentle washing in the shower. I wouldn't try to remove it all at once but take a fews days and it will all come off. Otherwise the incisions appears to be healing normally.

I don't know if your surgeon put glue on your incisions or not so I would confirm that but that is what it looks like to me.
