What is the best bra to wear 5 weeks post breast reduction?

This is something you should discuss with your surgeon who knows you best. For my patients, I want them to wear a soft bra that hooks in the front. the bra should be snug for support, but not tight. Good luck.

Plastic surgeons differ on post-op guidelines for the type bra and the length of time to wear following breast surgery procedures so you should ask your PS for his/her recommendations.  Although my practice provides patients with a surgical bra, a sports bra is fine; I do not recommend wearing an underwire bra.  I recommend that my patients wear the bra for six weeks after breast reduction surgery.  It is not necessary to purchase front zip or clasp bras, but they are easier to manage after surgery.  In addition, the bra worn should not place any tension or pressure on the incisions.

every surgeon has a preferred type of bra that they let their patients wear after breast augmentation, as this would depend on various factors like the type of surgery performed and the size of the implant used. You should discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon and follow his or her advice.

Hi and thank you so much for your question! I would suggest discussing what bras your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon prefers. I like my patients to wear soft, stretchy bras with some compressive support.
