Are there any unwanted side effects from an internal mesh? Considering that textured implants have a small chance of causing cancer, I was wondering if this is the case for the mesh too. Also, does it really work? If yes, why is it not included in the standard procedure of a breast augmentation?
hey doctors! so i know that any implant placed behind the muscle will settle and get pushed down over time, leading to a lower placement of the implant (typically way below armpit level) over time. ive also been told that using a mesh/ internal bra prevents the muscle from pushing the implant down too much. however, i have seen cases where even without the mesh/ internal bra, the implants are still high (above armpit level) after years. why do you think that's the case for some people?
My PS is recommending an internal mesh Galaflex. I am currently AA cup and looking for 250cc- 275cc under the muscle. I do not have saggy breasts. I never heard of mesh and I am afraid it will be painful and detectable to the touch.
Had my first consult and the Doctor measure my pocket at 11.5 cm. I am currently a 36 small B and would like to be a full C or small D. The Doctor recommended a 335cc High profile silicon implant or a 395cc Extra high profile implant with mesh. I am 5'0 and 118lbs. My goals with this procedure are to achieve more cleavage, side boob and fullness up top. I am broad shouldered so I don't want to large of implants where I look top Heavy. This is part of a mommy make over where I will have a BBL
My initial breast augmentation & lift were in June 2020 (silicone, crease incision, moderate profile 405/360 cc). By late August it was clear both were bottoming out. I scheduled a revision to add mesh below the implants & had that surgery in November 2020. Since the revision, the left side seems to have bottomed out even more than before the revision. What would cause this? Is the mesh in the wrong place? Do I need to fix this? My surgeon said he considers this a good outcome.
I am 58, 157 pounds and 32 years old. I have volume loss 2/2 weight loss. I am not a mother however I do plan to have children in approx 3-5 yrs. I was recommended 450 cc implants to achieve the desired lift effect as my chest is a 13.5 diameter. I was also recommended that a crescent lift to my right breast was done and an implantable mesh bra. I understand the mesh is supposed to help with bottoming out. Is it necessary? Should I just do a lift? Or wait until after kids altogether.
