This is post op day 7. Should I be concerned about the way it is healing? My dr said to wait it out and that it would even out w the other nostril but I'm not sure and worrying a lot. It gets worse when I smile. Any preventative measures I can start taking or any future treatments if it doesn't heal well?
I had an alar base reduction done 8 days ago, and was very pleased with the initial results right after the procedure. The stitches were removed on the 5th day, and I noticed that the nose appeared wider the following day. While the nostrils are reduced in size, the alar skin now appears thicker, and the base looks wider that it did in the first few days. Is this just swelling that should subside soon? Is it common for swelling to be this delayed (starting 6 days after the alar base reduction)?
I have more photos from my review if you need more. I was cleaning the area with warm water on a qtip and the scab came off and now the incision site looks like this. Is this normal? When the surgeon removed my stitches he also kept the scab there. He never told me to clean my nose with hydrogen peroxide or anything but now i wish i had.
I had alarplasty for my right nostril because it was wider than my left nostril. After, I realized that instead of being wider now it's longer then my other nostril and it's really bugging me. I'm 8 days post-op, please tell me that it may be due to swelling even if I don't feel swollen or I might need revision. Thank you.
It has been exactly one week since my alarplasty and there have been a few times when I've smiled/yawned/sneezed and I felt as if my nostrils would rip. I haven't had my sutures removed yet. Can these things affect the final outcome of my alarplasty?
I had an alarplasty 8 days ago and have noticed that my cheeks are still puffy and my nose is the same size as before if not bigger. I understand this is due to swelling but what concerns me the most is I'm not able to smile like before.. will this be permanent? If not, how long will it take for me to smile naturally again? I went with 2mm reduction on each nostril & explained to my doctor that I dont want clear changes in the nose shape,only the nostrils size reduction. I have taken out the stitches on August 30, the procedure was on 25th. I can't notice any changes from my previous nose shape or nostrils size. I feel frustrated as I've gone through the trouble of recovery and still looks the same. Since it only been afew days since the procedure, how long does it take to see clear changes to the width and nostrils size?
