I am currently on 50mg of Accutane and I am continuously getting flaky skin. I moisturise all the time but about 10 minutes later, I have more flaky skin. What can I do to get rid of this; is there any recommended moisturisers ( using cetaphil moisturiser at the moment). Also, I have had eczema but it has gotten significantly worse on my arms and neck, is there anything to help this ( I have been using dermol cream a lot). Thanks
I'm currently on my 8th week of roaccutane. The first 4 weeks were 30mg and seen my skin get worse. After week 4 I started on 70mg and now have seen my skin get much much worse. My acne was loacalised to my chin and chest but now I have it on my cheeks, neck, chin, forehead and jaw. Why is this happening and when should I get concerned. My lips are so dry they constantly crack and extremely painful. I can't eat in public as my skin around my mouth cracks and flakes with the movement of eating.
Ive been on accutane which is low dose 10mg a day for mild acne and stopped right now for few days and ive appiled more topical tretinoin for redness next day my skin is very sensitive and red ,flaking im currently using hydrocortisone cream for my irritated skin my cheeks looks like rosacea very irritated plz help me i cant tolerate
I am in my third month of accutane, my skin and lips are starting to get really dry. My skin is flaking and lips are peeling. My dermatologist has said I cannot use any oils on my face just an aloe Vera gel or oil free moisturiser as oils cause oil like cysts. But when I have researched it nowhere else says anything about using aloe Vera gel as a moisturiser or that oils are extremely bad. I was just wondering which skincare products are recommended and which should be avoided completely.
I'm currently on oratane 10mg and as expected my skin is a bit drier and more sensitive. Now my face is literally 3 shades darker than the rest of my body (see 2nd picture) and it worries me a lot. I do use an oil-free sunscreen everyday. What lotions/ creams can I use to (1) restore my natural complexion (2) ease the flaking and (3 )reduce the appearance of dark/acne marks.
I did 2courses of accutane (when I was 20, then 23) after trying every prescription pill in the market and now my skin is staring to relapse once again. My GP prescribed Epiduo before giving a referral to the Derm just to see if it works but apparently my skin looked worse. Dried flaky skin with more spots than before. I just dont know what to do anymore.
I started Accutane about two weeks ago and my face has gone terribly dry and flaky. Now whenever I put lotion or foundation my face starts to sting really bad. Even after I use to wash my face with Cetaphil, but my face becomes super dry and a small touch on my cheeks it would begin to sting. I'm wondering what moisturizer would be best for sensitive skin?
I have just started with low dose Accutane (10mg/ day) 2 weeks ago. I haven't experienced many side effects as yet, except some flaking on my upper lip and exacerbation of my acne. The laser clinic that I go to said it would be safe to have laser hair removal done on my face while on a low dose which I only started recently. However, I'm still unsure and would like to know if it is safe and what are the risks of scarring?
