I will typically have the patient place gauze over the drain sites after removal to help absorb any drainage.  The sites should heal within a couple of days.

Positioning after an abdominoplasty is a big part of healing and comfort. I ask my patients to elevate their knees on two pillows and elevate their back. This will decrease the tension and make you more comfortable. A recliner can satisfy all these requirements
