breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

Selecting an implant is a critical part of the process. I would caution to stay away from larger implants and higher profiles. Big implants can create big problems that are hard to fix. Depending on your breast measurements and skin qualities....I am not sure that these implants are a good range of selections. I would recommend something more like a 300-330 moderate profile placed below the muscle.

For someone like you both volumes seem to be too much in my opinion. However, communication with your surgeon and appropriate sizing using implant sizers and 3D simulation may help you to make your decision. Good luck.

Thanks for your question! The choice is ultimately yours. I think that a high profile always tends to look a little more "augmented" for lack of a better phrase. It would be helpful to see a few more of your goal photos. I think that perhaps a moderate would serve you better - especially since you are only 5'2" so you are a petite woman. Good luck!

When deciding on breast augmentation, many patients find it challenging to select the right size, especially when comparing implants that are similar in size. With your narrower chest wall, implants above 300cc will bring about a noticeable and significant change for you. Considering you wear a size 34 bra, you might find it helpful to think of each 100-125cc increase as equivalent to going up one cup size. It's important to ensure that the implant base width matches your breast base width on each side.

Generally, larger implants result in heavier breasts. They also tend to sag more over time, potentially making everyday activities and exercise more challenging. Given your smaller frame, opting for implants around 400cc would be a reasonable choice to avoid these issues.

Asking surgeons to select an implant looking at your photos on line is even more difficult and error prone than doing it in the office with a live patient. Looking at wish pics seems nice, and many surgeons only use this technique to select implants. Unfortunately it's guesswork, and surgeons who do this have to contend with a certain population of patients who get revision surgery for the wrong size implant. Instead, find a surgeon who does either 3D simulation photography or in office sizing using purpose built sizers (my preference). It virtually eliminates the risk of wrong size surgery.

At size 34, each 100 cc of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. 400 cc implants will take you up 4 cup sizes or 480 cc implants will take you up 5 cup sizes. Implants this large weight approximately 1 lb each, will result in descent, will not fit under the muscle and will extrude inferior and laterally. I recommend a mini lift with smaller implants. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, fat transfers or small implants can be placed if additional volume is desired.
