It would be highly unusual to have a consultation and then go right in for a procedure. Many times patients have to be screened medically or obtain blood work prior to a procedure. They have to be informed about the procedure, meds to avoid, etc.. in advance.
In most reputable plastic surgery practices laser liposuction is not performed on the same day as the consultation. Intake information is obtained as well as a target specific physical examination. Thanks for the photo! Due to the moderate excess skin and loss of elasticity in the upper abdominal area, it appears that you would have likely gotten better results with a mini tummy tuck. I would consult your surgeon to explore more options to remediate this "buckling effect".
