My whole life I have had fat chubby cheeks, usually that goes away as you get older. I'm 19 now, and I still have fat sagging cheeks. When I smile, my cheeks look like chipmunk cheeks. It makes me look like i'm still 13 years old and it's one of my biggest insecurities. I also don't have prominent cheekbones or a prominent jaw line so my face looks worse. Also considering a chin implant or chin filler.

Answer: Buccal Fat Removal from the cheeks in Los Angeles Treatment of ‘chubby cheeks’ cannot be achieved alone with buccal fat pad removal; a fact that I encounter time and time again when seeing patients in consultation for lower facial sculpting. My approach is to use a combined protocol that redefines aesthetic contours of the face. This includes the following: Buccal Fat Pad Removal Non-surgical Muscle-Fascia Tightening Venus Legacy or Venus Viva Ultherapy Submental Liposuction or Coolsculpting The combined approach is ideal. Buccal fat pad removal is a exceptional procedure that can remove excess fat from the cheek pads. Using an intraoral approach, a small incision is carried through the mucosa to remove a small fat pad within the cheek. Closure of the incisions is minimal with an absorbable suture and patients will experience some swelling post-operatively. We use SwellX tablets post treatment. Once healed, the contour of the cheek is improved and we begin Non-invasive tissue tightening to further enhance results. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Am I a good candidate for Buccal fat removal? yes, there is a high chance Chubby cheeks usually run in families, they are resistant to decrease in size with diet and exercise and most importantly tend to get worst with increasing in age. Chubby cheeks are caused by enlarged buccal fat pads. Buccal fat removal is the plastic surgery procedure that permanently removes the fullness of the lower anterior cheeks ( chubby cheeks). Specially in young patients it allows the face to look thinner specially when smiling ( no chipmunk cheeks). The procedure is permanent. The buccal fat pads that are removed, never come back. In my practice I routinely perform the procedure wide awake under local anesthesia, without pain and without sedation. The procedure takes under 1 hour. Recovery is associated with some days of swelling. Result can start being seen in 3 weeks post surgery. The video below helps to understand who could be a candidate for buccal fat removal. Answer: Possibly A buccal fat removal procedure can provide slimming in the lower face, in the lower anterior cheek region specifically. It can also help create more definition in the lower face depending on the overall bone and underlying tissue structure of the face. Based on your photos, it is possible that you are a suitable candidate for this procedure. It will be best to consult a board certified facial plastic surgeon in person and discuss your goals and options after a physical examination.Hope this helps,Ali Rıza Öreroğlu, MD FEBOPRASEuropean and Turkish Board Certified Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeonIstanbul, Turkey
