Can we treat deep haematoma after Botox injection to masseter muscle?

Question

I make injection to 25 unit of Botox to right massetor muscle.Now, I am feeling pain and swelling at injection side. I want to know treatment for this haematoma!

Hello barranippk.The diagnosis of a hematoma must be made by your injector upon physical examination of the area. You can compress with ice and pressure while you're calling your injector for an evaluation.Good luck. Dr. ALDO

Bruising can be typical after an injection and usually resolves in 1-2 weeks. Icing, cold compresses, arnika and VBeam treatments can give improvement. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Botox injections are typically done with very small needle. I have never heard of a hematoma requiring medical management after a Botox injection. Follow up with your surgeon for evaluation and further treatment recommendations. A bruise is something that will resolve overtime. Best wishes.

Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry to hear of your bruising.  This bruising and any small fluid collections will typically resolve on its own given sufficient time.  You can try cold compresses but usually 10-14 days are needed for your body to fully heal.  Hang in there.

There can be some bruising and swelling with local pain from Botox injections but should resolve in 10-14 das post treatment

Hi baranippk,Slight pain, swelling, and bruising is an unfortunate outcome of Botox injection. You can try cold compress, lightly pressed for the first 24 hours. Ask your doctor about Bromelain, an enzyme and Arnica ointment.All the best
