When is safe to resume Botox or dermal fillers after sepsis?

Question

Please advise on a safe waiting period before resuming any injectables. I am concerned that I could be prone to infection easily as a result of my immune system being compromised. I developed sepsis last April after having a d and c with mirena coil insertion. I have made a full recovery but am concerned about recurrent infections. Can you please advise.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question and I hope you are doing well from your sepsis episode.  If you have had no sequelae or recurrence of symptoms in over 8 months you would be safe to resume injectable treatments.  I would be sure to discuss your full medical history with your injector.

Hello- sounds like you had quite a spring.  I am sure you have been checked out with your family doctor and are back to normal.  So after this much time, I think it would be fine to proceed with fillers. Good luck!

If you have completed all treatment for your sepsis and feel well, I would just check with your primary provider prior to proceeding. There should be no reason not to resume Botox and fillers once you have recovered.

If you had no recurrence of the symptoms over the past 8 months and have no confirmed immunodeficiency, I think it is ok to resume your injectable treatments. I would certainly go over any medications you are taking and your past medical history with your injector prior to treatment.

There was a clear agent involved in your sepsis and that agent is no longer present. If you personally feel like a healthy individual at this point in time, you can absolutely resume your normal cosmetic treatments such as Botox and fillers. Good luck from New York City

Hi Belle100, First of, you must have completed your antibiotic treatment already. April was some time away so I was wondering why you mentioned that you are immuno-compromised.
