I've been advised to sleep with my head elevated, better is I can sleep sit.. It's even hard for me to sleep only on my back... is it ok to take xanax (alprazolam) to help with the post op? I'm going for a revision rhinoplasty and the first time the swelling was really bad! Could xanax cause more inflammation?

While you have already had several surgeries, I am reluctant to be confident that this scar tissue can be effectively removed and not returned. However, I do have extensive experience with these procedures, and oftentimes I can achieve quite consistent results.
There are a few ways of addressing collapsed nasal valves. These include batten grafts, lower lateral cartilage strut grafting (and/or repositioning) and spreader grafts. The idea is to strengthen the weakened nasal valves to help minimize collapse as you breath in.
