I got wound dehiscence 2 weeks after short scar arm lift on my right arm . Now after the sutures were removed it happened on my left arm too but no debridement was done. One of the sutures broke. My PS did debridement . I m worried. He didnt suggest any antibiotics. How long

Answer: I got wound dehiscence 2 wks after short scar arm lift. Should I worry? I am sorry you are having this problem. The photos are helpful. This kind of thing does happen on occasion. With good local wound care, you should heal just fine. It can take up to 4 weeks to heal in. In my experience, the scars tend to do very well and I have (thankfully) not had to do a scar revision yet. Good luck.
