Can I get a breast augmentation and a liposuction after an abortion?

Am going for surgery November 25 for my breast augmentation and a liposuction. I just went for my pre appointment and found out am 5 weeks pregnant, I have an appointment for abortion on November 13. Can I still go for my surgery November 25?

Thank you for your question.  As long as your HCG levels are down and you get clearance from your doctor's it should be ok.  Each surgeon will have their own protocol they wish to follow in situations like this.  I would suggest speaking to your surgeon and following their recommendations.  Best of luck to you.

If there are no complications from the abortion, six weeks after the abortion may be a reasonable time period to schedule your BAM. This depends upon the nature of the abortion, the postoperative course, the point during the pregnancy, the relative weight gain, your psychological well being. This must be evaluated on an individual basis by your OB/GYN and your plastic surgeon.

Typically, one is advised to wait 6 weeks between elective, non urgent surgeries. This is a matter to discuss with your PS. Is your overall health good? Will you be allotted adequate time to recover from both surgeries?

This is something that is best discussed with your surgeon who is most familiar with your medical history and planned procedures.  You will need to be completely recovered and your pregnancy test must be negative in order to proceed with the planned surgery.
