Is it OK to use Botox if you have a long history of Fibromyalgia with muscle weakness and muscular pain?

If you have a medical condition that causes muscle weakness I would avoid the use of Botox.While Botox can be used in the setting of some neurologic conditions such as multiple sclerosis,It should not be used in the presence of underlying muscle weakness

If you have pain, the botox may help it.  If you have muscle weakness, I would avoid botox as it will make the muscles more weak.  Best, Dr. Emer.

I am not aware of any reason not to have Cosmetic Botox in patients with Fibromyalgia.It is best you speak to your treating physician before you consider Botox.
