Is it possible to have under chin lipo without wearing that ridiculous garment. Everyone knows you had it done, and you have to wear it for 1 week. I have some slight double chin that always wanted to get lipoed, but never did because I want to keep a secret from EVERYONE, including family, and the garment ruins this for me. Beard can help cover any swelling and bruises. I want to have it done without a garment, but I don't know if surgeons wil allow it, and if the result will be as good without
Answer: Chin Lipo & Garment Vs Kybella To my knowledge, no one knows for sure if a compression garment will alter the final results though it might take a bit longer to get there. Not wearing one immediately may result in more initial swelling and bruising however. The other option to consider is not doing the lipo and having Kybella injections - no garments needed and less likely to bruise. Kybella is a new injectable approved by the FDA for the treatment of moderate to severe fat under the chin; double chin. Up until now the only option for fat removal under the chin was liposuction or surgically removing the fat by cutting it out. Kybella is the first ever non-surgical option for dissolving double chin fat. Dr. Derek Jones, an associate clinical professor of dermatology at UCLA stated “upwards of 80% of people [with double chins] are concerned about the condition.” Dr. Jones was the lead investigator in a study sponsored by the drug’s maker, Kythera Biopharmaceuticals. The problem of a double chin can affect men and women of all ages. At the BioSpa by Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery, both Drs Horowitz and Nichter frequently meet with patients in their 20′s-30′s frustrated and embarrassed with their double chin fat. Until now, liposuction was the preferred treatment for most of their younger patients with good skin laxity.#KybellaVsChinLipo#ChinLipoGarment

Answer: Double chin options without garment Thank you for your question and for sharing your photos. There are several options for contouring the neck.Non surgical options include: 1) Kybella to dissolve the fatty tissue in the submental area 2) Cool-mini treatment from Coolsculpting to target the same area 3) Adding a skin tightening device such as Ulthera or Profound to the neck tissue in conjunction with the one of the above to further tighten the skin. The big advantage of the non-surgical options is that a garment is not necessary.Surgical options include: 1) Straight liposuction which would reduce the pinchable fat under the chin2) Anterior neck lift with liposuction which would also allow for tightening of the platysmal muscles in the midline to allow for tighter neck contour3) Traditional neck lift which does the same as 2) but also removes some excess skin in the neck. The big advantage of the surgical options is that it allow for a more customized approach and greater definition of the neck / jawline, but I do recommend the use of a garment so it may not be ideal if you are trying to keep family/friends/colleagues from knowing.I would recommend that you visit with a board certified plastic surgeon who offers the various options above to discuss the pros/cons of each option and help you decide which is the best for you.

Answer: Wearing compression garment after liposuction under chin I believe that using the compression garment after liposuction under the chin does help to obtain a better result. You could decide not to wear it, but this could result in a less than optimal final effect. In addition to Kybella, you could also consider CoolSculpting to obtain non-surgical fat reduction under the chin.

Answer: Kybella Instead of liposuction you might also consider Kybella. There is no need to wear compression garments with this simple and conservative approach which might be a better option for you.

Answer: Lipo of the chin Thank you for your question. I don't put a garment on my patients. I do put a compression bandage on my patients for the first three days. I hope this is useful. Good luck with your upcoming surgery.
