6 weeks post surgery and tiny hole: Any recommendations on how to heal small hole? (Photos)

Question

6 wks post breast lift and augmentation. I have a small hole and a yellow spot where the was once a stitch, is this normal and will it heal? Talked to PS and he says all is normal. Also, still have a rash under each breast after 6 days of steroids. Any recommendations on how to heal small hole or if there’s anything I should apply to it?

Hi there and thanks for your question and photos!  The small hole that you see will close on its own.  You may have had a spitting suture that fell off and left a pinpoint opening within your incision line.  I suggest putting some bacitracin and gauze to prevent any contact irritation from your sports bra.  It should heal up within a few days to a week.  I suggest following up with your doctor for more information.  Best of luck!

It does appear to be a stitch hole that should heal without issue. This assumes it is not deep/tracking deep. I would follow closely with your plastic surgeon. I am insire as to the rash. Are you applying anything to the incision/wound? If so, discuss with your surgeon as to stopping to see if the rash will improve.

Thank you for your question.  The hole does not appear to be deep and if that is the case it should heal uneventfully.  As far as the rash, the cause needs to be sorted out and eliminated, it may the a reaction to stitch or more likely something topical.  If you have been applying any ointments or creams to the area of the rash, you should stop and see it the rash goes away.  Good luck.
