Silicone sheets for scars after gynecomastia with double incision surgery - which kind do you prefer?

Hi there, my surgeon told me that after 2 weeks if i want i can start with silicone sheets for scar treatment, I wanted to know from you if its prefered to combie silicone sheets with silicone gel or to decide only one of them? Which more do you prefer Silicone Gel , Silicone Sheets or Silicone Gel with Silicone Sheets together? Price its not a problem. Also which brand its preferes most like Mederma, ScarAway, NewGel+ or another one? P.s using them after gynecomastia with double incision

Thank you for sharing your question.  I would advocate for a silicone based scar cream with SPF such as that supplied by BioCorneum.  You can use silicone sheets at night from ScarAway for added improvement.  Hope this helps.

Hi russianguy,Thanks for the post. Every plastic surgeon has their own preferences. In my practice I use silicone sheets because the patient doesn't have to worry if they're putting too much gel on one part and not enough on another, in addition to not having to wait for ther gel to dry before putting their clothes on. I use Scar Away. Just as important, if not more, is to not raise your arms past shoulder height too much in the first 8-10 weeks. This stretch can lead to the scar widening, and no scar treatment can treat a widened scar. Sincerely,Dr. Dadvand
