I have some nerve pain in the upper arm from the Miradry hitting a nerve two months ago. It only hurts when stretching the arm in the air. Is there anything i should avoid doing or do for it to heal better? Maybe avoid movement that make it hurt?
Answer: Nerver damage... I am happy to answer this question. Everything in life has risks, even MiraDry. Your symptoms do not sound like nerve damage to me.With MiraDry, the device is designed to allow the energy to go as far as the layer where the glands live and does work on water bearing structures. I suspect your symptoms are caused by the connective tissue in your body which creates the feeling of tightness when your arm is fully stretched out. This is usually temporary and resolves over time.Follow up with your treating doctor and discuss this issue.Good luck. Dr. ALDO :)

Answer: Scar tissue and nerve damage in the armpits after Miradry I would consider scar massage with twice daily application of Plato's Scar Serum to the area. At times, Pulsed Dye Laser can help with scar tissue. The symptoms will likely resolve with time. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

Answer: Nerve damage With the new protocol of Miradry including tumescent injection prior to treatment, nerve damage is very rare. You might want to see a neurologist to assess for improvement or even a physical therapist to break up any scar tissue if that is the cause. Discuss with your practitioner to find out what he/she thinks is the best course of action.

Answer: Miradry nerve damage Nerve damage is a rare result of miraDry, because it is a noninvasive surgery there is no direct trauma to the nerves. There is still a possibility that the nerves suffered some injury or inflammation tend to heal over long periods of time. Worst case complications reported to miraDry, although I have never personally seen them in my own or anyone else's practice, are scarring and contracture of the axilla (the shortening of the muscle). This may explain the pain caused from stretching but I would advise you seek out a plastic surgeon ASAP.
