Swelling is normal after Miradry. I have co-authored a book on Miradry with Dr. Hratch Karamanoukian and have seen excellent results with many patients. I would take SwellX tablets twice daily and wait for the swelling to subside. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
Yes. Swelling can be significant and can last up to two weeks although icing helps a lot. I tell all of my patients the importance of icing and give them all arnica to use before starting treatment and once the treatment has taken place.
Tenderness and firmness at the underarm area is normal after the procedure. Some people have experienced swelling in the underarm area that has migrated towards the waistline and chest or breasts and armpit swelling sometimes lasts a few weeks or more. Best advice; check with your doctor.
Swelling is common after MiraDry. Typically, the swelling stays localized to the underarms (axilla), but it can migrate down to abdomen/flanks due to gravity. Make sure to ice and take the recommended anti-inflammatory medications. Dr. Keaney
I have done hundreds of miraDry and the swelling is limited to the underarms and should not go down to the abdomen or lateral chest. Read the miraDry book provided on the link below.

Thank you for your question. Your armpits should return to normal after the miraDry procedure, however it is very likely that you will have some armpit hair loss, which is often seen as a positive outcome for many patients.
Botox can be a good alternative while miradry is being approved for use in those areas. Botox prevents the nerves from telling the sweat glands to produce sweat and odor. Hope that helps!
