I am 53 and have age/sun/stress spots on my upper cheek that have begun to travel down my face. I also have keloid skin and I’ve been considering getting a chemical peel or using some sort of cream. I’m not sure if these spots are too deep for a chemical peel to make any difference. I’m just not sure what the best option would be to have my skin tone become more even again. Thank you for the help!
Answer: Sun spots can be treated by doing IPL, Clear & Brilliant, and chemical peels Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Sun Spots with IPL Thanks for your question! It looks like you might be a good candidate for IPL Photofacial. It can be customized to suit your skin tone and still see results. The IPL® photofacial treatment is typically used to treat sun spots, hyperpigmentation, and improve skin tone by targeting of hyperpigmented or otherwise damaged skin cells with the use of specific intense light wavelengths. Hyperpigmented spots will begin to rise to the surface of your skin and eventually flake off, leaving you with a much more consistent, smooth, and overall more youthful-looking face. I would also suggest using a physical sunscreen every day to prevent new sun spots and the darkening of your current spots.

Answer: Southeast Asian woman with sun/age spots Years of sun exposure have created those spots. I you live in beautiful Kissimmee, FL I can understand why. First protect your skin daily from further damage with a good sun block. I would not put any chemicals or lasers to your skin without first treating for 8 weeks with a skin brightening product containing hydroquinone preferably. You will be surprised what a good regimen will do for this if followed consistently. Then if you wish a quicker and if a deeper level treatment is required to enhance and prolong results I would perform IPL carefully. Only a provider experienced in treating skin of color should perform this type of treatment. Sublative radiofrequency can also be performed.

Answer: Treatment of Sun Damaged Skin You are an excellent candidate for the Obagi Nu-Derm skin rejuvenation System. It was actually developed for people like you and still is the best by far (up to several times better) of anything else available, including lasers, IPL's, peels, and other skin care systems.
