After reading about botox if one bottle of 100 units are diluted with saline could you get 400 units from a 100 unit bottle Thanks
Answer: 100 units of Botox is the maximum number of units one can get from one vial If one adds more saline, the volume drawn up into syringes is greater but the concentration of botox is less. Doctors use concentrations which work well for them. 1 unit/.01 ml, 1 unit /.02 ml, etc. but no one can create more number of units than 100 in a 100 unit vial.

Answer: Botox reconstitution Hello, the saline required to reconstitute 100U of Botox will maintain the same 100U. It is not possible to get more Botox units than those listed on the package.

Answer: Botox units No, adding saline does not increase the number of units. Adding saline can; however, dilute the strength per injection. It will never be more than 100 units!

Answer: Botox Hi there, it is a very good question which all patients should ask. First of all, I won't use the term "dilution" for botox. Better term to add saline to botox vial is "reconstitution". Botox comes in form of tiny particles and normal saline is added so that botox can be injected easily. No matter how much normal saline is used, 100 units of botox vial will always be 100 units. However, based on how much saline is used to reconstitute, number of units will change per each 0.1 ml of normal saline. If more saline is used, then basically one is using more saline for less units so more swelling. Usually, I use 2.5ml of normal saline to reconstitute 100 units vial which gives me 20 units for 1cc insulin syrine. I hope this helps. Please feel free to ask more questions.
