Hello missyamind endoscopic brow lifts, which make use of an endoscope: a narrow, hollow scope with a fiber-optic light source and a camera. Endoscopic brow lifts involve several short incisions behind the hair line.
Thank you for your question. An endoscopic procedure uses small incisions in the hairline and then special surgical elements to make the cosmetic corrections. Incisions are made so small in the hairline that the completed scars will not be visible. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon.Best wishes,
Endoscopic browlift does not elevate the hairline much, but it does make a small difference. If you are trying to lower your hairline along with the lift then a pretrichial lift is necessary. If you are happy with where your hairline is then either technique is acceptable.
All of my brow lift procedures are done endoscopically, even in patients with an already high hairline. Right after the procedure you may feel things seem a little tight and high, but because no skin is removed, the relative hairline position remains fairly stable.
An endoscopic browlift will elevate the hairline, but not a lot - maybe 5mm. At first it will appear pretty high from the swelling, but as this resolves the forehead will settle. It is actually hard to overelevate the brow with this surgery. If you have a high forehead, you should try to get a lift with the incision at the front of the hairline to lower the hairline.
Endoscopic forehead lift will raise your hairline! You can lower your hairline and raise your brows with a procedure we developed just for that purpose called the Irregular Trichophytic Forehead Lift. If properly done no visible scar.
Endoscopic forehead lift usually does not elongate the forehead as long as there is no central lift and central fixation. However, in general, those who have a long forehead are not good candidates for an endoscopic forehead lift since it is difficult to reach the intended area with the available instruments. On this group of patients the options will include an open forehead lift, which can shorten the long forehead, or removal of the frowning muscles through the eyelid incision, a technique that I have developed and it is called transpalperbral corrugator resection, and lift of the side portions of th eyebrow through the endoscopic approach.Good luck
The hairline cannot stay the same during a brow lift procedure when lifting the eyebrows. The hairline will have to shift upwards or downwards depending upon the placement of the incision. Placement of the incision at the hairline can shorten the forehead and lower the hairline. For more information and many before and after brow lift examples, please see the link and the video below
The transfollicular brow lift is, in most ways, the superior option for rejuvenating the brow in a person with a high hairline. The transfollicular option gives the best results in smoothing the forehead skin, addressing any brow asymmetries (differences between the shape/position of the right eyebrow compared to the left), and in actually advancing forward a hairline that is too high. I hope this helps you a bit.
One of the sources of patients for the hairline lowering surgeries I perform are patients who have had endoscopic brow lifts. If you have s high hairline and a flexible scalp, a successful endoscopic browlift will have to raise your hairline.
