Can Botox help slim down the appearance of a wide chin due to implant?

One of the difficulties with planning chin enhancement is that the analysis takes place predominantly on the side view but we tend to examine our features predominantly on the front of you or oblique views (anywhere between 30° and 45° angle).

At these angles, the contours of the chin are balanced against different parts of our facial features compared to the profile and realistically the planning can only be done with a degree of accuracy using 3D imaging and simulation.

Botulinum toxin around the chin is not usually able to deliver the changes that you are considering. A significant number of implants are slightly too wide as they are produced by the manufacturer and porous polyethylene ones can be more readily contoured before implantation to customise the outcome. It is also possible to use custom-made implants to this effect but it's not critical.

If you wish to achieve a narrower appearance of the chin and change the appearance of the facial oval, further surgery is your more likely answer.

The chin implant will not have changed the contour of the jawline or cheeks but has taken away the slight shadows that were bordering the chin and this changes the balance of the features in the lower face

Hello, hope you are well. Unfortunately, Botox will not be of much use in slimming the width of your chin. You could consider removing the implant if that was the cause of the excess width, or exchanging it for a new implant with a more suitable shape. If you are considering those options, you would want to provide your surgeon with the type of implant if it's pre-formed (not custom-made). An in-person consultation and physical exam is always a good starting point to help guide you to your best options.

It is very difficult to comment based on these photos that concentrate on the chin, lower face only. You practically have only two solutions; remove the implants or select other size/style of implant which will better fit your needs. Now when you have experience with augmentation and you know what you do not like, it may be easier to communicate with your surgeon. Hope this helps.
