I am a 43 year old who has lost 70 lbs via diet/exercise. Due to my weight loss/previous back lumbar surgery, my buttocks have atrophied, and I am having a hard time building them up at the gym. I need help deciding whether to do an extended tummy tuck or belt lipectomy (both with stomach muscle tightening, fat transfers to buttocks, and liposuction for contouring). I have met with three plastic surgeons. All recommend a belt lipectomy with one saying I could also do the extended tummy tuck.
Answer: Biggest bang for your buck The best result will be with the belt lipectomy. You need some help with your butt that only the belt will accomplish. You'll forget about the longer scar but will appreciate the improvement that the belt will provide. Good luck.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Tummy Tuck - Am I A Candidate? Thank you for your question and photos. Congratulations on your weight loss. You appear to be an excellent candidate for a circumferential body lift. The abdominal skin excision could give you an excellent contour as well as improve the tone of the anterior abdominal wall. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon for an in-person examination to discuss the specific details of the procedures. Ask to see before and after photos to get an idea of what can be achieved. Hope this helps!

Answer: Belt Lipectomy I would recommend the belt lipectomy, liposuction and fat grafting to your buttocks. It will give you elevation of your buttock, flattening of your lower back as well as tightening of your abdomen and improvement of contour of your flanks and sides. The fat grafting to your buttock will further improve your buttock shape and contour.

Answer: Extended TT vs Belt Lipectomy? I think that the best solution for shape and scar minimization would be an extended tummy tuck with liposuction of the sides and back with fat transfer to the buttocks. This would dramatically improve your shape and not flatten the buttocks further.

Answer: #extendedtummytuck #lipectomy In my practice, I prefer to stage the surgery for weight loss patients and do the extended abdominoplasty first and then the buttocks lift/fat transfer next. The reasons are1) recovery so that you are not laying on post operative surgical flaps 2)The procedure can be done outpatient 3) blood loss and potential transfusions and 4) vector position during surgery.
