Can Botox cause dry itchy swollen eyes?

This can happen if the injections interfere with your ability to properly close your eyes, which can result in that dry, itchy feeling. Botox has been repeatidly shown to be able to cause "dry eye" syndrome, particularly when injected laterally in the Crow's feet area. One of the dry eye symptoms is the sensation that a foreign object (grit) is in the eye. See an ophthalmologist for guidance on what to do to prevent permanent damage to your eyes.

Thanks for your question. Botox typically does not cause swollen and itchy eyelids, but can cause dryness of the eyes if too much is given in the muscle used to close the eyelids. It was a good thought about the new make up and creams, also consider if you have used any new detergents or soaps recently. If you were having an allergic reaction to Botox, you most likely would have experienced symptoms closer to the time of injection. Eyelid itching would be a very unusual reaction, especially a month after injection. I recommend following up with your plastic surgeon or ophthalmologist for evaluation.
