I am interested in getting a mommy makeover, but afraid to stop my acne meds.
Answer: Discontinuation of medication prior to surgery is at the discretion of the surgeon and anesthesiologist.
There is probably no reason to stop spironolactone if blood metabolites are normal. Doxycycline can stain the skin if concurrent liposuction is to be performed. Again check with your surgeon.

Answer: Routine medications should be reviewed prior to plastic surgery
I don't have specific concerns regarding either of these medications, and I always review medication lists with our anesthesia staff prior to surgery to make sure they are comfortable with the medications as well.

Answer: When Should I Stop Taking Spironolactone and Doxycycline Before Mommy Makeover? Specific instructions regarding medication management before surgery should come from your plastic surgeon, prescribing provider or healthcare provider. Both Spironolactone and Doxycycline are medications that may be prescribed for different purposes. Spironolactone is a medication often used to treat conditions like high blood pressure and hormonal acne, while Doxycycline is an antibiotic commonly prescribed for various bacterial infections. It is crucial to communicate with your plastic surgeon about all the medications you are currently taking, including any over-the-counter drugs and supplements. Your plastic surgeon will provide specific guidelines regarding when to stop taking these medications before your mommy makeover surgery. This is because certain medications may interact with anesthesia or other aspects of the surgical process, and adjustments may be necessary to ensure your safety and optimize the surgical outcome.Typically, your plastic surgeon will provide detailed instructions on when to stop specific medications before surgery while you also work with the prescribing doctor to determine when it is safe to stop a medication and for how long. They may ask you to discontinue certain medications a few weeks before the surgery date. It is essential to follow these instructions carefully and to inform your plastic surgeon and the prescribing physician of any changes in your medication regimen.Consult with your plastic surgeon for guidance tailored to your medical history and the specific medications you are taking. The reasons you are taking these medications will also be taken into consideration. Your surgeon will provide the most accurate and relevant information based on your individual circumstances.

Answer: When Should I Stop Taking Spironolactone and Doxycycline Before Mommy Makeover?
I don't see any reason for stopping the doxycycline. The spironolactone needn't be stopped either, but is can effect electrolyte balance (sodium, potassium, chloride, etc) so those should be checked before you undergo surgery to assure that the procedure is carried out with maximum safety. Discuss both meds with your own surgeon.
All the best.
