I am a dialysis nurse, so I am constantly spiking saline bags above my head, repositioning pt's chairs in the trendelenberg position (only if they are crashing) and lifting saline, dialyzers, etc. How long should I wait to return? I know that use of your arms is a tedious thing after BA surgery, and I would not want to go backwards in the healing process by doing too much, too soon.
Answer: May have to wait 6 weeks I usually recommend my patients take about 5-7 days off of work and not to lift anything heavy until about 6 weeks after surgery. That means you may have to wait until about 6 weeks before returning to work. However, please ask your surgeon for their advice as they may have different guidelines.

Answer: TIME OFF I agree with the other docs I think 2 weeks would be ideal, if you went with a small implant above the muscle one week would be fine

Answer: I am a nurse and on my feet constantly. When should I return to work after Breast Augmentation? Your plastic surgeon will be your best resource given that he/she will know exactly how you are doing and what activities you are planning on returning to. In my practice, for nurses who perform your duties, I suggest about 2 weeks off work ( as opposed to one week for patients returning to a desk job). Best wishes.
