Its day 7 after my bbl i have stopped my medication today. Since i had my surgery 3 days after my poops are uncontrollable i cant stop them from coming!! I feel so bad.. what should i do .. my surgeon says everything will be fine.

Thank you for your question. It is very possible that one of your medications is causing the uncontrollable diarrhea. See if the stopping of your medications helps to resolve it. You should call your Board Certified Plastic Surgeons office and keep them updated on your status and if it does not stop soon I would ask them about recommending an over the counter anti-diarrhea medication and voice your concern that it can lead to dehydration.Nest of luck.

my best guess is this may have been caused by antibiotics either given to you or that you've taken after the procedure.  Most of the same things get back to normal if you stop taking the antibiotics.  You should keep in close contact with your plastic surgeon.  You may want to try some anti-diarrhea medication. You're also having abdominal pain or blood in your stool's then you should contact your plastic surgeon immediately.  While fairly uncommon there is a complication where certain pathologic bacteria growing in the large intestine called C. difficile colitis. This condition usually causes pain and bloody diarrhea.  When it happens it should be treated by a gastroenterologist or internist.  Do not make medical changes without keeping your plastic surgeon informed.  Hopefully this will clear up in a few days for you.  If you don't get the appropriate care you need from your plastic surgeon then please contact your primary care doctor.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
