I have a very deep cleft on my chin that I am u happy with. A doctor recommended dermal filler, saying a chin implant would move so that wasn't an option. I had one syringe of hyalaronic acid which made no viaible difference to the cleft. How would I go about filling in/removing the cleft? I cant find an Irish doctor specialising in cleft chin removal, probaly as cleft chins are rare in Ireland. I would be prepared to travel abroad. Also how much would it cost?

It is certainly safe to remove your genioplasty plate and removing it, in no way, will weaken your chin. It has long ago healed with solid bone back together. Whether its removal will relive your chin tightness/discomfort is another matter.
The easiest and less expensive option for you to get a jawline is a combination of a chin implant and neck liposuction. That will produce two positive movements in different directions (chin forward, neck up and back) which, when done together, will make for a dramatic profile improvement.
Although it's not standard to remove the plate after sliding genioplasty, it should be possible to do in a staged manner once your bone segments have healed back together.
