Using Minoxidil for 8 months and have been experiencing dizziness lately. How long can I stop to see if this is a side effect?

Minoxidil can cause dizziness. You can stop for 1-2 weeks without having a negative impact on hair growth. However, I do recommend following up with your Dr. to determine that is the cause. There are also great non-invasive hair growth options that work well with Minoxidil like PRP/progesterone. 1-2 month would be enough to see this. Accounting your age i would suggest to go to a neurology doctor also. A female hairloss is different than men hairloss. It can be hormonal. Did you ever made a blood test for this ? 

Minoxidil can cause dizziness. It may also decrease a person's threshold to dizziness if he or she has a cold or flu, or are feeling under the weather. I advise stopping for two weeks and the restarting with daily monitoring of blood pressure (at home on in the drug store). Be sure to get your baseline blood pressure before restarting and then again at day 1 (24 hours) and day 5. Always check with your physician in the meantime as there are quite a few causes of dizziness (some serious, some not).

Hi, Rosie--Minoxidil can indeed cause lightheadedness and dizziness, especially in combination with alcohol or certain other drugs. Minoxidil is a hypotensive agent and can cause a drop on blodd pressure when it gets absorbed causing dizziness
