Thank you for your question. Let me begin by saying removing 3 liters of fat is a large amount from just the flank region. As a result, you probably incurred more tissue trauma resulting in increased pain and swelling. Compression is an absolute must in your situation. All of our lipo patients have a lymphatic massage within 72 hours of their procedure in our office followed by once per week treatments with Venus Legacy. In this way, we can keep our eyes on the patient while ensuring they are wearing their compression garment and making their recovery more comfortable. As a result of not wearing your compression garment, your recovery is likely to be prolonged by several weeks.
