How long after having IPL will I see results?

Thank you for your question.  If you are using IPL for treatment of blood vessels of the face, it may take 2-3 treatments, or sometimes even more.  The provider may have been a little more conservative to start so they would not burn you.  You can always increase the settings, but you want your provider to start low, so you do not burn and scar your skin.  I hope this helps!

Thank you for your question, Depending on how much damage you have and what we are treating will determine how many treatments are needed. Typically patients will do a series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. After each treatment you will see an improvement in your skin.

Depending on what your trying to improve (sun damage or rosacea) and how bad the problem is will determine how fast your treatments will show results. Most IPL treatments are in packages of 4-6 1 month apart. The amount of energy used is also a factor with your final results. Hope this helps. JB

The answer to your question depends on a variety of factors. Some patients might see improvement in visible vessels right away, while others need to wait a few weeks to enjoy their results. If you are concerned about your results - or lack thereof - I would schedule a follow-up with your provider. It is often helpful to compare before and after photos to see that the device is really working. IPL also requires more than one treatment session in most cases to achieve the desired results. Make sure you are working with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist with extensive experience in IPL so your procedure is as successful as possible. 

When treating broken capillaries with an IPL, results can be immediate when the vessels cauterizes or several weeks later. With overall redness results can take up to 6 weeks. If you do not feel the first treatment was successful and see no difference, I would contact your clinician and arrange to go in for pictures.
