How long after having IPL will I see results?

The answer to your question depends on a variety of factors. Some patients might see improvement in visible vessels right away, while others need to wait a few weeks to enjoy their results. If you are concerned about your results - or lack thereof - I would schedule a follow-up with your provider. It is often helpful to compare before and after photos to see that the device is really working. IPL also requires more than one treatment session in most cases to achieve the desired results. Make sure you are working with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist with extensive experience in IPL so your procedure is as successful as possible. 

When treating broken capillaries with an IPL, results can be immediate when the vessels cauterizes or several weeks later. With overall redness results can take up to 6 weeks. If you do not feel the first treatment was successful and see no difference, I would contact your clinician and arrange to go in for pictures.
