White stripes after IPL, does this fade?

I got IPL a month ago, and white stripes have appeared. I have read that one can take several treatments to try even this out, but the area is too large. I am also going on holiday in a few months and wondering if it will get worse in the sun?

It can take several weeks for laser results to settle. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for after care recommendations. I recommend skin care with vitamin c, b5 hydrator, silicone based scar gels with growth factors and enzymatic washes with papaya enzyme to give improvement. PDT therapy can calm inflammation. Sun protection is essential. Lasers work best in combination with other treatments like microneedling/prp in order to improve the skin's texture and collagen. Best, Dr. Emer

Hello Susy.  To provide a better answer, please post photos of the area.It's true that when having IPL treatments for sun damage that some areas can appear lighter because the pigment from long term sun exposure has been removed.  This can also sometimes appear as a striped area.  This is because it is not always safe or practical to overlap with the device and when not overlapping, this is what can cause the striped appearance.  Yes, this does even out with multiple visits.  Best of luck.
