I’m really not satisfied with my results so I’ve still been wearing my faja , can i switch over to a waist trainer ? Will the faja give me better results at 7 weeks
Answer: Dissatisfaction with liposuction 7 weeks out Hi and welcome to our forum! Congratulations on your recent procedure...The procedure of liposuction is an "insult" to the soft tissues, resulting in swelling which will initially totally obscure the operative result. The purpose of a compression garment is to prevent bleeding and to control swelling. We usually recommend its use for the first 4-6 weeks after the procedure. 60-80% of the swelling should subside within the first 6 weeks, with the remainder slowly subsiding over 6-12 months. It is still too early to assess the result. Continue followup care with your plastic surgeon... Best wishes...

Answer: Compressive garments after liposuction probably have no effect on the final result. Most plastic surgeons prescribe a compressive garment after liposuction. This provides comfort as well as control of the immediate postop swelling. It's doubtful whether it has any effect on the long-term outcome. In my practice when the garment is not comfortable then it is discarded.

Answer: Liposuction Recovery autumnkeesee. Photographs would be helpful, however it can take as long as six months for all swelling to resolve after liposuction. I usually ask my patients to wear some sort of elastic garment for six weeks after surgery and at this stage, I don’t think any type of garment will speed your recovery. It sometimes just takes time for all swelling to resolve and skin contraction to occur. Try to stay patient and follow up with your plastic surgeon. Good luck!

Answer: Compression Garment Question-Ask Your Doctor & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol regarding compression. I have my patients wear compression for 3-6 weeks straight then overnight for 3-6 months after their procedure. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer
