I am almost 3 weeks post op with 385cc silicone under the muscle, with a crease incision. My boyfriend and I love to go out on the water in the summer, specifically on a paddle board- similar to a kayak. I’m wondering when it will be okay to wear a bikini top instead of a sports bra? I’m worried that the bikini won’t be supportive enough while rowing or “paddling” through water. I don’t plan on swimming so that is not the issue
Answer: Bikini top 3 weeks after surgery Post operative instructions are specific for each patient depending on the type of surgery they had and how recovery is progressing. Typically exercise should be avoided for 3-6 weeks after a surgical procedure. As for the sports bra and support, check with your plastic surgeon as he/she is familiar with your case and outcome goals.

Answer: Wearing a bikini top post breast aug? Is it safe 3 weeks post op? The best answer can be obtained from the PS who performed your breast augmentation three weeks ago. UV exposure after breast implant surgery is a problem with regard to possible scar pigmentation changes so bikini top would probably not hide the scar. Sports bras may be OK for the first 6 weeks or so; I do not recommend underwire bras. Would recommend that you avoid strenuous exercise (paddling, rowing) until six weeks post-op. No pools or the like should be entered until wound healing is complete, which will take at least 6 weeks. The last thing you want is an infection following this procedure. Answer: Bikini after BA I would be concerned about sun exposure this soon after surgery as well as the question of how strenuous paddling really is in your case. This should be discussed with your surgeon. There may be a compromise solution here including sun blocking tops and limiting your physical exertion.

Answer: Bikini top This should be ok as long as you will not be submerging yourself in the water as infection to the incisions is a concern. However it would be best to ask your PS as we all have different postop protocols.
