Is it advisable to go braless after breast augmentation? 1 week post-op.

Thank you aloe78 for your question.  I would recommend you follow your Plastic Surgeons protocol. Typically we like patients in the sports bra to bring down swelling faster.  I would also recommend no underwire for about 6-8 weeks.  Best of luck to you.

Unknown to many patients, post-operative care is equally important and it’s is most advisable to follow the advice of your surgeon. 
Depending on the type of implants used and the position of the implant on the chest wall, your surgeon may recommend you to go braless or with a breast band. The surgical bra and breast band are prescribed to help reduce swelling, risks of bleeding and also for comfort. Some patients develop a rash between the strap and the skin. Use of a gauze or dressing material to line it can help. The other common problem is with the sizing of the garments. If in doubt it’s always good to check back with your surgeon on his nurses.
