Ask your surgeon to get the most appropriate answer for your specific case, but I am usually okay with foundation and makeup 10 days post-surgery.
It is completely understandable that you areconscious about the redness on your face following your facelift and lasertreatment. However, during this crucial recovery time, it is important to giveyour face as much breathing time as possible, avoiding heavy makeup that canclog your pores. For at least the first 10-14 days, please refrain fromapplying any foundation or concealer to your face. After this time, and withyour doctor’s official approval, you should be cleared to apply makeup gentlyand sparingly to mask the residual redness you are experiencing.
I recommend confirming with your plastic surgeon, but in most instances a liquid make-up concealer may be applied 2 weeks after a facelift. With regard to the laser procedure by your mouth, it's important to note that there are many different types of resurfacing lasers with different depths, so without seeing you, it's difficult to determine when you'd be able to use make-up on that area. However, when I perform most of our laser resurfacing procedures with a fractionated CO2 laser, we typically allow patients to apply make-up after two weeks time. Again, please check with your plastic surgeon for his or her specific post-op instructions.
Thank you for your picture. The skin from a laser procedure should be healed at 2 weeks and 2 weeks after a facelift your bruising can be covered with concealer. Please follow the advice of your PS.Earl Stphenson, Jr, MD, DDS, FACS
Laser treatments can vary significantly in the depth of treatment and therefore time of healing. In general even most deep laser treatments are healed by one week. Once the skin is fully healed I allow patients to resume wearing make-up. I recommend using a product that you have used in the past and tolerated well. Make sure to wear sunscreen as well to protect your newly resurfaced skin.
I would permit my patients to wear makeup two weeks after a facelift. This is, however, a question best addressed to your own surgeon.
The answer is that at 14 days postop, it is generally fine to apply make up. In my practice, patients generally go over to the Spa for make up instruction a day 10. However, every Surgeon has a specific protocol and it is mandatory that you discuss such issues with him/her.
At two weeks, you should be able to wear concealer. I would check with your surgeon to make sure that the areas you have had laser have healed.
you should be able to wear concealer that is easy to remove at this point. However, make sure that it is hypoallergenic and perfume free. Additionally, we will want to make sure that it has ultraviolet protection content in it.most importantly check with your doctor regarding continued care after your facelift and laser workChase Lay, MDDouble board-certified facial plastic surgeon
I typically allow my patients to wear makeup 2 weeks after surgery. I would make sure to be compliant with your surgeon's post op instructions and follow up with your surgeon to verify that you are healing according to plan.
Hello, Bell's Palsy should not prohibit you from a facelift procedure. Depending on the severity of the palsy, complete or partial, there may be techniques performed at the time of surgery that could improve symmetry between the right and left sides. Hope this helps.
I see no contraindication to having elective cosmetic surgery of the face in a patient with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. The procedure should be performed however with the approval of all Physicians involved in your care.
Another possible reason for the appearance of a wide face is prominent masseter muscles, which are the chewing muscles at the angle of the jaw. These muscles can be especially large in patients who chew alot of gum, or grind their teeth at night. The size of these muscles can be...
That is an interesting question. A youthful facial shape is heart-shaped, widest around the eyes with a smooth narrowing into the temples and a sharp jawline coming to a point. We all lose volume from our temples with age, what some people call becoming a "peanut head."It sounds like...
Eyelid skin is very thin and very well vascularized (has very good blood flow). The benefit of this is that incisions in the eyelids typically heal very well with little to no stigma of previous surgery. Everybody heals at his or her own unique pace and it can take a few months for incisions to...
Although it's not possible to give you a complete assessment based on your photos, liposuction is an excellent procedure to get a slimmer neck. Fat reduction in the cheeks is not as effective, unless you are having reduction of the buccal fat pads. I would suggest proceeding cautiously,...
