I wanted to know what type of neck lift I should pursue for a genetic neck with horizontal folds that causes fat rings above and below the horizontal neck line. This is not tech neck or Venus rings. I've had it since birth. Ive tried morpheus 8 with necktie and had a regular neck lift which seems to have made the rings tighter. Please help!

Horizontal neck folds that have been present since birth are very difficult to fully correct with a standard neck lift. A traditional neck lift mainly improves loose skin, platysma bands, jawline laxity, and deeper neck contour; it does not reliably erase fixed congenital skin folds.
If a previous neck lift made the rings feel tighter, it may be because the skin was redraped but the fold attachments or soft-tissue bands remained. Pulling the skin tighter alone can sometimes make horizontal lines look more defined rather than smoother.
The best approach depends on what is causing the rings: skin tethering, fat above and below the fold, platysma anatomy, scar tissue from prior surgery, or true skin crease memory. Options may include careful scar/fold release, conservative fat contouring around the rings, fat grafting or filler to soften grooves, laser or microneedling for texture, or a revision neck lift if there is also deeper laxity.
I would be cautious with more aggressive energy treatments or another “standard” neck lift unless the surgeon can clearly explain what anatomical layer they are correcting. In congenital neck folds, treatment often improves the contour but rarely removes the lines completely.
My advice would be to see a revision face and neck lift specialist. Ask specifically whether the problem is skin crease tethering, fat distribution, platysma, or scarring from the prior lift. The solution may need to be customized rather than simply choosing a named type of neck lift.

I understand your frustration, especially because you’ve had these folds since childhood and a previous neck lift actually made them feel more pronounced.

From the photo, this doesn’t look like a simple problem of loose skin. Your anatomy may involve the platysma, the distribution of fat, and the way the skin naturally folds horizontally. In cases like yours, repeating a standard neck lift may not be the best solution.

I would recommend an in-person evaluation with a board-certified plastic surgeon experienced in primary and revision neck surgery to determine exactly what is creating the rings and tailor the procedure to your anatomy.

There may still be a solution—you just need the right diagnosis before choosing another surgery.
