Hi there, I'm looking at implant profiles and wondering if an implant is .2cm wider than my breast base width would make a noticeable difference compared to one that fits my base width exactly. Thanks!

Answer: Probably Okay While it’s difficult to say for sure without examining you, 0.2cm of difference should not be a major issue as long as your surgeon plans your pocket accordingly. It should also be less of an issue for someone with a base width of 13 compared to someone with a base width of 10 as the relative difference would be less.

Answer: What implant works best? Thanks for your question. The short answer to your question is: probably not. Implant choice is a tough part of breast augmentation. All plastic surgeons have different approaches to making the implant selection. For the most part, most such approaches are valid. My personal choice is to begin by size choice. You know how you want to look. You have to make the surgeon understand your preference. The use of breast and implant dimension is very important, but has to be made within the context of your desires. In my experience, three dimensional photographic simulation is often the best part of the consultation. Make sure that you are in synch with the surgeon you choose. Keep in mind that 0.2 cm is two millimeters, that's pretty small.
