Hi! I had a tummy tuck and I am happy with everything but my belly button. I wish I had known to ask for the hooded belly button procedure, which I think looks more natural. Is there anything that can be done to improve the appearance?

It's understandable that you may be unhappy with the appearance of your belly button after a tummy tuck. While it's always best to discuss your desired results with your surgeon before the procedure, there are still options available to improve the appearance of your belly button.

One option is to have a revision surgery that focuses specifically on your belly button. This may involve reshaping or resizing the belly button, or performing a procedure to create a hooded appearance if that is your preference. However, it's important to note that revision surgery can be more complicated and may involve a longer recovery time than the initial procedure.

Another option is to try non-surgical treatments such as dermal fillers or injectables to reshape or fill in any irregularities around the belly button area. However, this option may not provide the same level of improvement as surgery and may only be a temporary solution.

It's important to discuss your concerns with your surgeon and explore all of your options before making any decisions. Your surgeon can assess your individual case and recommend the best course of action for achieving your desired results.

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.
