I am 35 yo and have super strong facial muscles. The lines showed up after not getting Botox for 2 years due to pregnancy/breastfeeding. I had a consult and the recommendation was to start with Halo, but I am concerned It won’t get rid of the lines and I’ll be left spending more time and money on TRL later. Should I just start with TRL or will Halo with Botox be a good solution?
Answer: Facial Rejuv -- PRP/Microneedling, Laser (Fraxel/Halo/Co2), emeragecosmetics COSMELAN/ENLIGHTEN/EMERAGESKIN AERIFY you should be doing cosmelan and enlighten peels every 2-3 months and between that time halo to face and neck and pro fractional around the eyes. use a metal shield in the eye to be able to do the full eye area.see an expert. at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (MTS roller with anteage MD ampules weekly, see linkt) should be started now to prevent further aging. For facial rejuvenation, I would suggest a combination approach of 1) skin care with products and PRP/microneedling 2) PDT light therapy few times a month with growth factors 3) laser treatments like clear and brilliant regularly and a few times a year Fraxel/halo Viva, Co2/Erbium 4) Sculptra injections a few times a year for collagen production with fillers like juvederm/restylane/belotero/radiesse/bellafill 5) thermage/ultherapy for yearly skin tightening with or without PDO or cone based instalift threads for lifting 6) botox every 2-3 months to stop movement lines and prevent lines at rest 7) deep microneedling RF like Fractora/morpheus8 for tightening of the skin 8) Vascular laser like vbeam/excel V or BBL forever young treatment every quarter (3-4 months) Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Halo vs TRL Halo is a fine choice for your fine lines. You should consider doing 2-3 treatments, but it will help without really interrupting your life. I do not think that if you decide on a TRL that you need anything extreme. I think that 60-80 micron depth will be a really nice and adequate treatment to make a significant difference. This should be pretty much healed in 7-10 days. You may be pink but the skin will be back intact. A deep resurfacing TRL is for folks who have deeper lines and is a significant healing event, but I wouldnt suggest this for your skin.

Answer: Halo vs TRL If you have the downtime I would just do the TRL. WE can modulate the settings so that its deeper in the areas with most lines/photodamage. I love Halo (we helped develop it) but the line correction would be better with TRL in your case. Good skin care afterwards is critical to maintaining your result.

Answer: Intense Halo vs TRL (Full Resurfacing) Great question - I like doing both and you option is not only either/or. As a general rule, Halo is better for pores, brightness and overall texture/tone and color than specific lines, although it will get them with more intense treatments. Having done and had both, the healing from Halo is much easier and you are fully recovered faster. After a serious TRL, it is often 10-14 days til you are back in makeup and 3-6 months til all reds/pinks fade. If you were in my office, I would propose an combined treatment where I started with BBL for antiaging, then used the TRL handpiece to do a moderate TRL resurfacing only over the most intense lines, then blended it out with an intense Halo over all, including eyelids and finally brought you back in at 3 weeks for a ClearSilk followup. That would almost certainly get the line, with easier recovery. If you really needed it, we could also throw a PDO thread in the skin right under the line and repeat that later. Just an idea!
