Metronidazole itself does not affect your skin in a way that Halo would cause problems. However typically people who are using metronidazole on their skin have rosacea. Care must be taken by your laser specialist to be sure that your rosacea does not flare after a Halo treatment. We treat rosacea patients all the time using Halo sometimes in combination with BBL. Metronidazole pills and the reasons for taken them are not a contraindication to Halo. Hope this helps!
There is no contraindication to getting a Halo just because you are on or have been on Metronidazole. Enjoy the results of your Halo. It is one of the only devices to ever give us better results than we expected, all with minimal to no downtime.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Facial Rejuvenation SpecialistQuintessa
Hi and thanks for your question! I generally do not recommend that patients use prednisone after a Halo laser. Halo creates a pattern of tiny holes in the top layer of skin, and then your body will rush to heal those holes with fresh new glowing skin. Prednisone will block the normal healing...
This needs an in-person evaluation. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to evaluate and go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Hello, At our practice, we recommend waiting 2 weeks to get Halo after a filler procedure, and that is mostly to allow the swelling and bruising to resolve and let the filler settle into the tissue. There is no problem with waiting longer but I wouldn't treat sooner than 2 weeks after...
Actually, just the opposite. There is now >20 year data on BBL and I had the very first Halo prototype from 12/14 - the patients who do these treatments 2-4 times per year look younger when they started, both in pictures and on biopsy and also have thicker skin with more collagen and elasticity....
Halo is an excellent choice around the eyes for skin laxity. We have been doing this for a few years as an alternative to surgery with great, quick results. Your physician is doing the right thing by placing eye shields for increased safety and also adding more treatment...
This is one of our favorite areas to treat with Halo. It works best when combined with PDO threads for additional collagen building and support. Most patients find they do best with 2-3 treatments in the first year, and then 1-2 treatments per year for maintenance.
