Hi - My chin sticks out and gets worse when I smile. It makes my side profile look terrible. I can't tell if it's a chin issue or a teeth/jaw issue. I had braces before and now my teeth are sticking out a little bit forward. What doctors/procedures can be recommended to me? I am considering a rhinoplasty/lip injections to balance out my side profile. But, I am not sure if that is the best recommendation for me. I really want to be able to smile confidently without my side profile looking so strange.

The chin projection can be improved by diminishing the chin projection. This can be accomplished with a reduction genioplasty or chin shaving. An office or video consultation would needed to give you better guidance. In addition, I would recommend simultaneous submental and jawline liposuction.

You have an overly horizontal projection of the chin which exists at rest but is magnified when smiling. You would benefit by a horizontal bony chin reduction with removal of some inferior chin pad as well through a submental approach.

By the appearance of your photographs , I believe a reduction in the projection can be achieved by removing a small portion of the tip of the mandible (The projection of the chin). This procedure is performed through a small incision under the crease of your chin, under local anesthesia with a little intravenous sedation. The result  will probably balance your facial features..
