Hi - My chin sticks out and gets worse when I smile. It makes my side profile look terrible. I can't tell if it's a chin issue or a teeth/jaw issue. I had braces before and now my teeth are sticking out a little bit forward. What doctors/procedures can be recommended to me? I am considering a rhinoplasty/lip injections to balance out my side profile. But, I am not sure if that is the best recommendation for me. I really want to be able to smile confidently without my side profile looking so strange.

Dynamic changes that occur when people animate (contract facial muscles) are difficult to change. It is best to seek improvement for conditions that are present without animating. However, you might want to consider some botox to selected muscles to diminish theireffect when you smile.

A sliding genioplasty would improve your facial balance and provide a permanent solution to the recessive nature of your chin. Fillers are another option but they are temporary and will need constant maintenance. You might want to try the fillers first to see if you like the look.
