What is a collapsed Belly Button? (photos)

I got a tummy tuck 5 weeks ago out of town. I went to another doctor in my area to follow up on my care and he told me that my belly button has collapsed, and I need to have an umbilicoplasty. What exactly is that and is this something serious?

There shouldn't be any problem with your getting a pap smear and/or a pelvic exam post tummy tuck. However, discuss with both your surgeon and Ob/Gyn just to be sure. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Thank you for your question.  Occasionally small clots can develop within the tubing of a tummy tuck drain but as long as the area of insertion does not look infected, there is no significant swelling taking place, and the drain is still wicking fluid into the bulb, it is okay to maintain...

I am so sorry that you are experiencing this, but I don't think it has anything to do with your surgery. But is related to your weight. Try to take a bit of the excess off with a reasonable eating plan and exercise. It will definitely improve your bulge. Best, Dr. Nazarian
