Will Botox injections help reduce the appearance of “side calves”? (photo)

Question

I have 16” calves and they do not protrude from the back; instead they curve to the inner side and look massive. I despise them and can’t wear shorts or dresses. They look about the same size as my thighs. I’m interested in doing something minimally invasive like Botox or other injections to make them appear smaller. Is there anything that can be done without major surgery? I am currently losing weight and they just appear larger every week. Help!!!

Yes, Botox can cause shrinkage of your calf muscles. Unfortunately, This will be temporary (3-6 months) and very expensive. You could easily spend $4000 for one session. I do not believe you are going to be satisfied spending thousands of dollars every year to slightly shrink your calf muscles.

Botox can certainly decrease the size of your calves.  the injection is done to the medial side and the lateral side must be left alone for stability so you are a very good candidate. see a board certified dermatologist who is experienced in this technique

Even though the majority of my patients are Asian women and models, some men come in with the desire to reduce exactly what it is you're looking for. Thank you for sharing a photo with us . I do understand your concerns, but your calves look muscular and athletic , and a lot of people might even feel envious.
I don't have experience with botox in this area, but even if someone , somewhere has done it , it will require tons of botox units and every 3 months reinjections. I don't think its worth trying if  a doctor ever offer you this solution.
