Is my skin too thick for rhinoplasty ? I want a more defined nasal bridge , shaved alar cartilages , little bit narrowing of nasal tip . Moreover, would a cartilage graft be needed too?
Answer: Are you a candidate for rhinoplasty? Here's what you need to know first Hello, and thank you for your question. While it appears you may benefit from nose shaping, the best way to determine your eligibility for rhinoplasty, as well as the right surgical approach would be to schedule an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with a strong rhinoplasty portfolio. These experts not only have a deep understanding of the nose and its functional and aesthetic elements, but they will have an eye for facial symmetry too. Rhinoplasty is one of the most complex plastic surgery procedures. During your consultation, your surgeon will evaluate your nose, recommend the best course of action to address your concerns and goals, use digital photography to show projected results, and help ensure the best possible results.

Answer: What can rhinoplasty do? What can rhinoplasty do? A Rhinoplasty typically narrows the width of the bridge of the nose. It can also refine and narrow the tip. It is impossible to make an accurate assessment of the thickness of the skin of your tip from the photo but no matter how thick the skin it can be reduced in width to some extent. I therefore I feel that most of what you are seeking is achievable with a rhinoplasty.

Answer: Rhinoplasty The best way to determine what specific changes will look good on your face, and what changes are surgically possible, is to do your research to find the top rhinoplasty specialists and consult with several of them in person. During your consultation, your photos can be computer-morphed to show how the changes to your nose will affect your appearance. The thickness of your skin would also be evaluated at that time. A rhinoplasty specialist will have the experience to determine whether the morphed images are surgically attainable. Good luck! @drdonyoo

Answer: Thick Skin Rhinoplasty Based on the appearance of your nose and skin, I think you would be an excellent candidate for a rhinoplasty. You have thick skin, but not the thickest. The dorsum/bridge is not usually effected by the thickness of the skin, because the skin is thinner in this area and it is thickest in the supratip/tip region. I can see her alar cartilages, so achieving definition of the tip will be possible, but it will likely take longer for the swelling to fully resolve for you to see your final outcome. More like 18m than 12m. I would likely use cartilage grafts from your septum to ensure a straight nose, and to ensure adequate tip shape and support, but that would be determined after an in person consultation so I can see what we are working with.

Answer: Sigmoid curved nose Hi and welcome to our forum! From your photo, you demonstrate a sigmoid curve to your nose suggesting significant previous injury. The nasal base is wide and the nasal bridge is broad and blunted. The nasal bones appear outfractured. The nasal tip is bifid and the supratip is full. I do not visualize thick skin (which usually demonstrates exaggerated skin "pores" or acne scarring). You appear to be an excellent candidate for full rhinoplasty and septoplasty. Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion. Best wishes...
