I hd tt mr lipo 9 weeks ago , my lower stomach/ pubic area is really soft and squishy feeling. When i sit it sticks out . Doc said it is not fluidand and to give it time, im just a bit worried. I do wear conpreddion garments. Just wanting to see if this is normal . I do not want to go bck to my doctor for this until more time has passed.
Answer: F/u TT Thanks for your question. That area can get quite "boggy" after TT, lip and particularly with mons reduction. Normally you can palpate free fluid as it feels like a water bed and that is a seroma. An ultrasound can be done if there is any question. Sometimes there is just a lot of congestion from impaired lymphatic drainage. This can take 3 months to resolve. It can be expedited with lymphatic massage. I would give it a couple of weeks from the last time you've seen your surgeon and if no improvement (or if it gets worse) ask to be evaluated. Best of Luck!

Answer: TT with At 9 weeks it is very typical to have swelling above the TT scar, especially if lipo was done in this area. Keep following up with your PS, sounds like they are taking good care of you. Compression helps some, but you really just need to be patient and allow your body to heal. Congratulations on your TT!

Answer: Follow-up Question: 9wk po tt mr , soft , squishy lower abdomen/ pubic area Your symptoms and the appearance of your tummy really does suggest that you have a seroma or fluid collection. Ask your plastic surgeon to order an ultrasound which will diagnose whether or not you have a seroma

Answer: Soft, squishy lower abdomen Dear Cardenas1991Thanks for your question and photos. Your "soft, squishy lower abdomen" may be due to excess subcutaneous tissue (fat), fluid collection, and/or edema (swelling). Since your plastic surgeon can examine you in-person, you should follow up with your plastic surgeon for his/her evaluation and treatment plan. Good luck with your continued recovery.Best regards.

Answer: Squishy Lower Abdomen 9 weeks After Tummy Tuck The symptoms that you describe which appears to be supported by your photo is that you have a fluid accumulation (seroma) deep to the skin. This can be easily and definitively diagnosed by an ultrasound. It would be beneficial to you both short and potentially long term to request that this be performed.Steven Turkeltaub, MD
