Can I make filler dissolve quicker without hyaluronidase?

Question

I recently got more lip filler , I’m unhappy with how they look, there’s a side that’s overfilled& covers my teeth too much. Problem-I’m allergic to hyaluronidase. Will rubbing the overfilled side over time make the filler breakdown quicker? I know they usually dissolve naturally overtime, but I’m scared that I may be stuck with these lips forever bc I’ve heard that filler sometimes won’t dissolve after getting them for a while or that they build natural collagen

Fillers can be partially reduced with some lasers, such as Fraxel, if they are used within 1-2 months of having the filler treatment.  This doesn’t always work but might help.  Also, you might be allergic to Vitrase but may he able to have Hylenex since that hyalironidase is not from animals.

I agree with trying the Hylenex somewhere other than your face.  If that does not work out for you, fortunately or unfortunately HA filler are more quickly degraded from the lips than most other places due to constant motion from talking and eating.  These fillers are not permanent.  You can try massaging the product to smooth it out or returning to your doctor to make the other side more symmetrical.

Thanks for your question. I am not aware of any other way you can get rid of filler faster other than injecting hyaluronidase.  Otherwise you just need to give it time for your own body to metabolize the filler. Best of luck to you!

there are two commercially available preparations of hyaluronidase, vitrase and hylanex. Hyalanex is derived from human tissues and you are much less likely to be allergic. try a test dose of this in your arm.

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that dissolves hyalurinic acid (HA).  If the filler is hyaluronic acid (Juvederm, Restylane, Voluma, Vollure, etc.), then hyaluronidase can dissolve it.  If the filler is not HA, as in the case of Sculptra or Radiesse, for example, then hyaluronidase will not dissolved the filler.  There are no means to dissolve those fillers.
