Voluma can be used in areas other than the cheeks, however, it must be placed in the proper plane of the skin by a trained expert. Great volume and longevity can be achieved by Voluma. Amy Brownlee, MS, PA-C
Voluma is FDA approved for the treatment of volume loss in the mid face. Most people have asymmetry and Voluma is a great tool to utilize for correction of asymmetry. Juvederm Ultra Plus and Juvederm Ultra may be used in conjunction with Voluma. These products are all hyaluronic acids although they have various consistencies. For example, Voluma is injected deep in the subcutaneous area or directly on the bone, whereas Juvederm is placed in a more superficial plane to treat wrinkles and lines, but not necessarily volume loss. I recommend you seek treatment with an experienced injector.Thank you.
Yes, Voluma can be used in areas of than the cheeks. As a matter of fact, it is cleared in Europe for volumizing the cheeks and chin. The US FDA indication is for cheeks but off label use of the product may be considered for adding volume to the chin and also for the liquid rhinoplasty. Before proceeding, discuss in detail with your doctor. I hope this helps.
Voluma can be used in areas other than the cheeks. This is an off-label indication for Voluma meaning areas other than the cheeks were not studied by the FDA. This type of injection should be performed only by an experienced Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist injector. Voluma should not be placed in the tear trough, undereye, nasolabial fold or lips. Whether you would benefit from treatment of other areas and whether or not that is safe would require an in person consultation with a physician injector. I hope this information is helpful.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
Voluma can be used off-label for areas other than the cheeks. You will need a proper consultation to determine what suits you best. Make sure you contact a board-certified physician or other experienced practitioners for safe and effective results.
Dear Maggie, thankyou for your question. Injectable fillers can be used to enhance facial volume, correct lines and depressions, and rejuvenate the face without surgery. Somecommon fillers include restylane, juvederm, perlane, voluma, radiesse, and sculptra. Consult with a an experienced facial plastic surgeoninjector to review your options. Good Luck!
Voluma has a very specific indication for mid face and cheek. At this early point and given its recent FDA approval and use on the market, i do not recommend treatment in any location other than FDA approved areas of mid face/cheek.
Hi there, Thanks for your question. Absolutely, voluma can be used in other areas beside the cheek (malar) area. It is a very nice product and I have found it works well around the chin and in the temples.Visit with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery to determine what is best for you.
Voluma is the only FDA approved filler at this time for central and mid-face volume loss. Like any fillers, it can and will be used in "non-FDA approved" areas too. To determine if Voluma or another filler would be better to help create facial symmetry, we would need photos, or you should consult a respected physician injector for a consultation. Remember that nearly everyone has some degree of facial asymmetry! "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion. Fillers made of hyaluronic acid that haven't been metabolized by the body yet or haven't dissolved yet can always be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Please contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures. Hyaluronidase is designed to...
The administration of fillers is a highly technical procedure. There are so many factors to consider to determine if you are a good candidate for it, the best filler to use, the right amount, etc. You will have to ask your doctor more about the details if you want to know why.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and Broad Band Light (BBL) do not penetrate the skin deeply, and Voluma when properly injected, is injected quite deep. It is normally not used directly in the nasolabial fold areas due to its denseness, so the lump you feel may be related solely to the Voluma...
